GLOBAL JOBLESS TO HIT RECORD 200 MILLIONS ON 2013

KUALA LUMPUR 05 Febuary 2013. A homeless man lying down on the roadside to attract attention from the public at Jalan Tun Sambathan, Kuala Lumpur. The global jobless queue will stretch to more than 200 million people this year, the International Labour Organization said in its annual report, repeating a warning it has made at the start of each of the last six years. The U.N. jobs watchdog estimates unemployment will rise by 5.1 million this year to more than 202 million, and by another 3 million in 2014, following a rise of 4.2 million in 2012. In Malaysia, 7.833 homeless people who have been saved by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) for the period 2007 to December 2011.  NSTP/Chan Wai Yew
