1) KUALA LUMPUR 18 Febuary 2013. A roadside grocery shop owner Abdul Kader 50 doing his daily work for almost 20 years at Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur. The 1Malaysia Retirement Scheme is a government initiative to encourage the self- employed and those without a fixed monthly income to save for their old age when it was implemented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Self-employed workers are encouraged to join the 1Malaysia Retirement Scheme (1MRS) to enjoy the same benefit of 6.15 per cent dividend given to normal Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributors.
